How we calculate your size
We built this size model from thousands of real fitting records gathered renting formalwear to customers across the country. Give it your age, height, and weight and it returns the jacket, shirt, pants, and vest sizes our fittings show fit your build best. It errs toward the fit our tailors actually see work, not a generic chart.
How to measure at home
You do not need a tape measure to use the calculator above. If you want to double-check, here is how the pros do it.
Measure your chest
Wrap a tape around the fullest part of your chest, under your arms and across your shoulder blades. Keep it level and breathe normally.
Measure your waist
Measure around your natural waistline, where your pants normally sit. Keep the tape comfortable, not tight.
Measure your sleeve
Measure from the center back of your neck, across the shoulder, and down to your wrist bone with your arm slightly bent.
Measure your inseam
Measure from the top of your inner thigh straight down to the bottom of your ankle.
Suit and tuxedo size chart
Jacket sizes run in even numbers and match your chest measurement in inches. The letter is the jacket length, set by your height.

Is my jacket size the same as my chest?
Close. A jacket labeled 42 is cut for about a 42 inch chest. The letter after it (S, R, or L) is the jacket length, which we set by your height.
What does 42R mean?
It means a 42 inch chest in a Regular length. Short (S) suits heights up to 5 foot 9, Regular (R) fits about 5 foot 10 to 6 foot 2, and Long (L) is for 6 foot 3 and up.
How accurate is this size calculator?
It is built from thousands of real National Tuxedo Rentals fittings, so it is a strong starting point. Every rental includes free adjustments, and you can order free swatches to check color and fit before your event.
What if I am between sizes?
We round to the size our tailors see fit most builds like yours. If it needs a small tweak, rental adjustments are included at no extra cost.
